Job description:
As a Key Account Manager, you are responsible for the strategic development, relationship management, and revenue growth among the company’s top 50 international clients, each with account potential ranging from €1 to €10 million. You focus on acquisition, retention, and expansion of customer relationships, with a strong emphasis on value-added sales across the service offerings of 4PL solutions, warehousing, cross-dock operations, and additional LTL and groupage transport services.
You build strategic customer relationships in the sectors of fresh produce (potatoes, vegetables, fruit) and chilled and frozen foods, operating as a trusted logistics partner.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and acquire strategic accounts in the international fresh produce and food market
- Build and maintain long-term customer relationships at C-level within multinational companies
- Develop and implement strategic account plans aimed at revenue growth, margin improvement, and customer satisfaction
- Design tailor-made logistics solutions (4PL, warehousing, cross-dock) in close collaboration with operational and supply chain teams
- Act as orchestrator in customer relations, safeguarding the overall customer experience and service delivery
- Prepare quotations, lead negotiations, and finalize (international) contracts
- Conduct market and competitive analysis within the fresh produce and food sectors to identify commercial opportunities early
- Report sales results and forecast pipeline performance on an account level
Requirements:
- Minimum bachelor’s degree in a commercial field, logistics management, or supply chain
- At least 5–7 years of relevant experience in key account management within logistics services
- Proven experience with 4PL services, warehousing, groupage/LTL transport, and value-added services
- Affinity and network in the fresh produce sector and/or chilled/frozen food market is a plus
- Excellent commercial and negotiation skills
- Strategic thinker with a hands-on mentality
- Fluent in English and German (Dutch is a plus)
- Willingness to travel internationally
